Running

Make sure you have Sun Java or OpenJDK/IcedTea installed - check your distribution. GCJ is not recommended.

DEB and RPM packages will install appropriate 'desktop' files, so Angry IP Scanner will appear in the applications menu, under either Internet or Networking. Alternatively, you can just type ipscan to launch the application.

Jar files are launched by either double-clicking or typing java -jar jar-file.

MacOS X

Download version 3.0-beta6 below (950 kb) or browse all 3.x releases

Running

The zip file contains Mac application bundle: just save to your drive, then double-click to extract the application.

You can then run it by double-clicking the Angry IP Scanner icon. Drag it to the applications menu in Finder if you want it to be accessible from there.

Windows

No installation is needed - just save the program anywhere you like and run it from there.

Make sure you have Java installed.

Old

This is an older generation of Angry IP Scanner.

Download version 2.21 below (120 kb) or browse all 2.x releases

If you get warnings about viruses or trojans, read this FAQ entry and please sign the petition.

No installation is needed. However, you may use the Install program... from the Utils menu in order to create shortcuts, etc.

Version information

Beta - version 3.x

Version 3.x is the completely new cross-platform implementation of Angry IP Scanner. Binaries are provided for Linux, Mac, and Windows.

Please make sure you have Java installed on your system - it is required to run Angry IP Scanner.

Version 3.x is released under GPLv2 license.

Stable - version 2.x

Version 2.x is an older generation of Angry IP Scanner for Windows only.
